New String for my Widow
« on: February 07, 2010, 11:04:00 PM »
Hey guys this may be a dumb question but I have never replaced the string on my widow and I was just wondering is the one you get from black widow the best choice? I have never purchased a bow string before and I just wanted yall's opinion on what was the best performing one to have on it.  ;)

Thanks,
Caleb

I went to the SBD Strings 8 strand D-97 String with loop wraps and wool puffs from SBD and my Widow gained a few FPS and was quieter. I also Have several CJC custom strings on a few bows mainly 10 strand 8125 with wool puffs I really like them also both were a improvement over the factory strings.

I've used BW's DynaFLIGHT 97 string since 97.  I never got caught up in bow speed.  that was the string that came with it, thats the one I use.  No problems so far.

Cmane07,

Be sure you have  a BW that will take a fastflight of DynaFlight string.

"If your bow was made before 1988 (serial number 6782 or lower), you should NOT use FF or DF type strings."-from  www.Blackwidow.com/faq

Generally speaking, faster strings have fewer strands and are composed materials with very little give (BCY makes many of these kinds)... but they are louder and more aggressive on the fingers and the limbs.  BW come with DynaFlight stings.  My BW has one and it shoots amazingly.  You can buy a BW string on the site, which is what I recommend.  Otherwise, check out 3 trees strings... they make great flemish strings!
God Bless,
Erik
