Black locust bowmerang
« on: February 08, 2010, 07:46:00 PM »
Now that I've worked this Black Locust stave down to the best ring, I'm wondering how best to draw that "shadow line" down the back of it. The stave has a lot of potential; very high ratio of early/late wood & some nice reflex on 1 end. Do I pull a straight chalk line anyway I can to make it fit or try to follow the grain, or what??

please resize all posted images no wider than 640.
