Had a really hard time getting on the deer this season and was hoping for some local success stories.

i forgot to mention my setups- for deer and hogs, i used my hoyt gamemaster 2 45# at my draw/clicker with beman 500s and 100gr. magnus heads, total weight 390grs!..and for small game i used the hoyt gamemaster,60# bear montana, and a 56"50# chekmate....all shooting flu flus with a field point and washer combo.

Thanks Guys
We have a club in Stevenson.(North Jackson)
Hasn't been a rifle on the property in over 20 years. We try to encourage tradtional bows, but it seems everytime the lease goes up we have to let another compound in...
I hunt with an early 70's Wing Thunderbird 62in 45# @ 28. It was my grandfaters, who 70 years old and still scampers up trees better than me!

No luck in Colbert. But I only hunt on the ground. Didn't get to hunt as much this time.

Missed two with my longbow...had my boy with me, really exciting.  Hunted mostly on weekends due to work.  We really had some less than ideal conditions on several of the weekends.  I think there's still plenty of deer out there, though.

I didn't get a shot all year. The last morning there was a snow on the ground. The wind was perfect, and I had a doe broadside within 15 yards. It's funny how you can have terrible luck all year and be presented with a perfect oppurtunity on the very last morning.
...and shoot low

John, are you Greg's son? I remember when you were a little fellow hunting with your dad at the Dixie Archers club. I live in Florence as well.

Bama Recurve - i looked at a club in Stevenson once - sounds like yours.  Grub Mathews showed it to me.  Decided it was too far from home given i usually only get to hunt weekends.  I live down in Calhoun County.  I hunt Calhoun Co and further south in Chambers Co.  Never saw a forked horned buck this year.
