Justin I have met many bowhunters that have gone to hunt hogs free range in alberta ,, most say they never see any and they are not many around,, save you money and time go set out a bear bait, where you live you would not have to go far and Bears were made for trad hunting,, good luck whichever was you go !!  also way better stories after you get one climbing the tree your in or the odd bluff charge tests you resolve hunting them with a trad bow    :wavey:

In Texas they roam, roam, roam. You never know where they're gonna be.

Thanks to Texasrecurve’s description of TX swine doings, I jotted this down … now where did I put my guitar …

Oh give me a home, where the wild piggies roam
What you see will beat moving 3D
Where seldom a herd, spots a bowhuntin’ nerd
And will stay for the rest of the day

Roam, roam, cross the range
Spot and stalk, stop and shoot, hope blood drains
Hogs turned into pork, ribs make such a nice feast
Loads of fun thanks to this ugly beast

No ryme or reason with those darned things! Here one day, gone the next. Hitting your game camera every night for a month and gone just-like-that when you show up to hunt them. Frustration is going to be your companion when you hunt pigs. Count on a day in the woods and nothing more and hope for the best. Even in land that is covered in hog sign and ripped to shreds, there's just no telling where they'll be at any given time (unless you can use a feeder in your state).
