Buying from classifieds
« on: February 19, 2010, 11:58:00 PM »
I do not make it a habit to purchase anything unless I have the product in my hands.  I broke down and purchased a Dwyer Endeavor from Trad.
member Fishone.  The bow came in the mail today and it is just as he described.  After about a dozen shots at fifteen yards I was shooting very tight groups.  Any how this post isn't about the bow or my groups.  A couple of months ago I posted a topic.  Fishone replied with a response that I wasn't real pleased with.  I immediately had a preconceived  idea who this guy was.  A couple months later Fishone has a bow for sale that I'm very interested in.  I almost didn't buy it because Fishone basically confronted me on my earlier post.  That would have been a big mistake on my part. I apologize to you Fishone.  Fishone is a great individual to deal with.  He provided me with brace height, arrow lengths and weights that shot best for him.  After receiving the bow today, I called Fishone on the telephone.  We talked for probably close to hour and found out that we may disagree about somethings but we still have traditional archery in common.  Fishone, I hope you take up my offer to come and deer hunt,
Al

Been theere, Doone Thaat!
I at one time responded to a post from another member and pretty much opened the gates for being ridiculed for my ignorance and according to the PM recieved from an old timer, my stupidity.
I thought about a very nasty response but instead held my tongue until having time to think and ponder.
As it was, the Gentleman, cussed my butt in a PM, not on a public forum. So what I did was not respond but put him on my ignore list. And I made a good decision.
Now I watch all of his posts and response to posts. He's a smart old man.
He was a gentleman, albeit a bit crusty and crass.
Should we be so fortunate to never have any conflict in our life, naa!!!
Not me, but I will admit I'd just as soon have a butt whoopin as a butt chewin in a public forum.
You can chew me but be very careful because you might not be able to whoop me.

I don't believe that I've ever met a finer group of people, gathered under one roof, for such a noble cause.

There are Such a big group of kind, Smart Genuine People on this site!
As i always say things can easily be interpreted in negative ways over an internet forum, if you read something with a negative attitude its likely to come out negative, take it with a pinch of salt.

Positive debate can be very good if both speak from hands on Experience/opinions and approached with an open mind.

With such a large group of people theres inevitably going to be disagreement.
Sometimes the way someone tries to convey a point online comes across completely different to the person on the other end.
Like Andy said, sometimes you just gotta take it with a pinch of salt.

Add to that a touch of humility, and you get what we are all able to enjoy here.

Al Natural.....very classy man.  You did good to share that with us.  Hope you enjoy the heck out of that bow.

Awesome!! I love the willingness of people like you to be open, real, and honest. We are blessed to have a bunch of folks on this site just like you and I appreciate each and every one of you.

BUT:.......

I'm sure that I sometimes rub some folks the wrong way, in fact..... I do it a lot.... right here at home, just ask my wife..lol
But if I think that might be the case I will e-mail or pm(privately) the one I have offended or think I've offended and try to clear it up.

Please, always talk directly to me if I need reining in or correcting but please take me to the woodshed(privately) where the world won't see me cry when you do.

You folks rock!!!!!!

God bless,Mudd

Maybe we should approach the Moderators and request a Forum for all us old guys that can sometimes get an "attitude". We could call it the "Designated Geezers" or "Curmudgeon for a Day" maybe "Reprobates World".     :bigsmyl:

Hee hee, George, your name popped in my mind when I read the post until I got to the cussed part. I've seen you tell it like it is but some how I can't see you doing that.
