Hi, I use a 40# old Damon Howatt Hunter bow with D50 string.
My selfmade arrows are 1100/1200 grains and I catch a lot of Italian little Trout with it...
No problems to use light weight bows....
Bye from Italy

If you end up thinking it won't work for you and it's a really good deal then turn me onto it.

I gave away my recurve that I used to do my bowfishing to someone who is just getting started and I didn't want to start him with too much weight.
His bow is now a Black Bear 58" 40@28 and I need to replace my bowfishing rig..lol

God bless,Mudd

my son puts arrows through some big carp with less weight than that, all you need to do is choose your shots.

My 42#er worked great last year. A lighter poundage bow may allow you to shoot longer before you get tired. It could equal more fish per day.

In most cases that will be fine on shallow fish.If you are shooting deep fish 4-6 feet you may want a few more pounds.
