Here are a few more from our last hunt. I'll never forget this bear. We were sitting out in the middle of an inlet that was about a mile across, glassing the shore all around, and Todd kept jiggling around up front. I had seen something about 3/4 mile away and finally said something like "Still in the Bow!" or something close, and I could finally see it was a bear. About that time I heard "Permission to move, captain?" We motored over downwind, dropped Todd off and went back out and video taped him stalking to 15 yards, making a heart shot and the bear lunged forward about 12 yards, leaped into the air and died in a somersault right in front of Todd. The bear looked like a grizzly before and after.
We also got my bear on video. Stalked to about 20 yards, made a high lung shot and he circled out on the beach and headed straight for me. Shot him again at 5 yards head on, and the arrow went in beside his head and exited by his testicles, while I jumped aside.
Of course, there are dangers out there. Alien starfish are one of many. We were lucky to come back alive.
