Advice on Grizzly broadheads

I am newly back to trad archery after being out of it for 10 years due to a non archery related shoulder injury.  I am shooting a lighter bow now than I used to and want to optimize penetration.  I  am thinking very strongly about the Grizzly broadheads in 145 or 160 grains. I've heard good things, but thought I would ask this forum.

Look at STOS in the same weights while you are at it.

Grizzly's are excellent heads.  They're now made in left bevel as well as right.  Matching the bevel to the wing feather you're shooting (left or right) enables the head to operate as it should for greatest penetration.  I also agree with Bjorn.  STOS heads are also excellent.

Love the Grizzlys.  Can't imagine anything better. There may be.. but I just don't see it.

T .. there are a great number of pretty nice broadheads available to us right now.  The Grizzly is a good one, but so are many others.  

Find one you feel good with,  learn to sharpen it really well (and easily),  shoot it for practice well ahead of season, and I am betting any of the better heads will be wonderful for you.

Thanks to all of you for your input.  I'm re-learning a little, and learning a lot of new info since returning to trad archery.  I am really excited about next hunting season.

Not many people use them and not as easily found but i have had good luck with the grizzly's companion the wolverine.  A little shorter, a little wider, same quality.

I like my Grizzleys. I shoot the 190 El Grande. I had Ron at KME sharpen them though. To get that initial 25 degree bevel was out of my comfort zone. Now I will just touch them up. If you havent tried a :KME sharpened Grizzley, you don't know what you are missin!

Grizzleys are a great choise for lower poundage bows.

KustomKing Archery has them in left bevel, soon all major suppliers will! Another good way to sharpen Grizzlies is the new single bevel pull through sharpener that Alaska Bowhunting Supply makes! I use the double bevel sharpener on my Ace heads and just finish with a jewelstick, a friend of mine uses the single and a jewelstick on his Grizzlies and loves it! The new Grizzly comes with a factory bevel of 25 degrees too!

The new 200 Grizzlys are extremely easy to sharpen.  
In literally 13 minutes I had both edges on one broadhead ridiculous sticky sharp.  I have never gotten anything that sharp before.

thing i like about the Grizzly is that they get So Sharp!! Much more so then any of my other BHs
But they take more work.

As mentioned above the STOS is a great head to look at also

i like the looks of a long, lean, near 3:1 twin blade head.  i've shot el grande 190's, and they flew well on carbons and woods, never killed anything with 'em.  right now i'm kinda leaning towards the 2 dozen 190gr left bevel tusker concordes i just got from tim @ braveheart.  hope to use one on a hog this spring/summer.

I've shot deer with many different broadheads over the years. Two years ago I started shooting the Griz 190.  I've shot five deer with them in the past year and a half and love everything about them.  I haven't shot anything with the Tuskers yet, but in practice they seem impossible to destroy and they get about as sharp as the Griz.
