Two wonderful bows
« on: March 07, 2010, 12:36:00 PM »
I had  the pleasure of shooting two wonderful hunting oriented longbows Saturday down at RMSG. Since I just bought a Mohawk off the classifieds here had to fling some arrows with one and wasn't disappointed. Everything said about how these shoot is accurate. Very forgiving and quick. I got some wrist slap but that is probably my form and not the bows fault. It was 62 AMO and I felt no stack at my 30 inches.
The other bow was a 62" Rampart 3 piece longbow. Every time I shoot one of these the smooth draw and lack of hand shock always impress me. For whatever reason I don't get wrist slap shooting a Rampart which I attribute to how the grip secures the hand. A more sculpted grip than a Pronghorn and more deflex make it a different 3 piece bow then Herb's though they share many qualities.
Just passing on some observations that I  hope might prove helpful to someone.
