Anybody a Phathead?
« on: March 15, 2010, 11:42:00 AM »
Looking at these Steel Force heads, this African Phathead looks like a really nice head to me. 190gr of thick blade can't be all bad. Anybody try them?

I looked at those at Denton Hill last year and spoke with the Steel Force fellow. They appear to be very well made and made in the States.

Thanks, man. I figure if they are good, I will shoot them.

I have a pack of them here on my desk. They are definately super-duty heads. I'm pretty much a devout 3:1 guy but if I was to shoot a delta style head, the African Phathead would be one of my first choices.

I killed 3 deer with them last year, I had Steelforce make mine into a 4 blade though. All deer went down in sight with great bloodtrails. Very easy to sharpen with a KME and you can get them SCARY sharp and hold the edge a long time. Black Widow has them in the new catalog in 4 blade version.
