Not saying anything bad about Carharts, I love em but they do look like hunting pants to me.I was looking for a hiking type of pant.Going with a wader pant from Cabelas.

I did not read the thread very well. There are a few things from north face and Sierra Designs that you may want to look at as well I will try to find some links if you like.

Here are 3 different North Face "sport" pants that are various weights of material.

I am also a fan of Sitka Gear, because it is the best made clothing out there designed specifically for hunters, especially if you don't want to use wool. You can get the 90% pants for $199 directly from Sitka Gear in the Woodsmoke color, which is a medium gray color. The 90% pants in a solid color look like hiking pants, not hunting pants, and they are absolutely top notch quality that will last for many years and will serve you very well.

I'm not sure what you are looking for, but this is the sort of thing available out there in the high tech sporting clothing. I personally favor the Sitka Gear, even though it is expensive. I have quite a bit of their clothing in camo and think it would be ideal in the gray color for what you want to use it to do. The woodsmoke gray is very neutral and will blend in as well as almost any solid color. The North Face pants are all good quality too and are significantly less expensive, but they are not as well suited to hunting.
