I want a check too........ .371 is the deflection in inches equal to 70# and likely not the answer Dick is looking for.

According to my math 8.8mm is very close to 11/32". Maybe that is the shaft diameter. I dont' know what VI+ Strong means.

To change mm to in the conversion factor is .039 x 8.8 =.343 I don't have a calculator so if I did the math right that spine is about #76 pounds. Maybe someone can double check.

Huey, you are right on the math, but since .3465 is also 11/32" I am wondering if it means shaft diameter.

Austrian shafts are done in mm. So 8.8 is diameter. I foolishly bought some once, sold as 11/32 and they didn't fit in my taper jig at all.
Crap quality splintering wood as well if it's the same Austrian fir that i bought. Save ya money and get something else.
