My first cottonmouth charge was on the Cahaba. I had already had many close calls with them in my life, and had heard about them charging, but that was the first time it actually happened to me.

In my first August of scouting the Cahaba I killed 4 copperheads, 1 cottonmouth, and a real nice timber rattler. It's wonder the rattler didn't pop me. He had the drop on me. Thank God he didn't take the shot, I was a long way from nowhere.

Great story Jerry. Now that I've read a few, I wouldn't expect less. Thanks

Thank you all for your surport and comments on my writtings. For your information, Cahaba-Trad Gang member Is the David that was on the trip with me and the other archers. If he hadn't of been on that trip to reach out and pull Stoney on in to the bank as well as help me crawl out, I don't know for sure if even I would be here to write these stories for everyone's enjoyment. So please for me, give David the applause he deserves for having a strong arm and good grip.He wants to go again, so if you want to follow in our footsteps, he would be the best one to take along.Jerry Hill................

Another great story Jerry! You took me from laughing to all tensed-up with anticipation in one short story. Your descriptions of the setting make it easy to visualize the events. Thanks again Sir! Also, a Thank You to David for his "Strong Arm and Good Grip"!  :notworthy:
