Anybody have an opinion on this short, little recurve? They sure are priced right.

Excellent bows at a great price.  I have a chekmate longbow and my brother has the 56" hunter recurve.  Both are great shooting bows.  They will last a lifetime if you take care of them.  Will add that if you do have a problem, they will fix it as they stand behind their product.

don't know about the Hunter model , I have a 62" hunter 2.  I also have a Chek mate Kings pawn deluxe that I no longer shoot since I went to the H2.

You can't go wrong with a Chek Mate.

The 56" Hunter isn't available to order anymore, but the 58" is.  The Hunter I, II, and III are also now available in a 64", and the Beaver Creek "longbow" is available in 56", 58", and 60".

Hope to get my site straightened out soon, and get pics up.

I had a 56" hunter and it was a good shooting little bow. Not the fastest but a nice shooter.

Some dealers may have a few on hand, but when those are gone that's it.  I have as good a relationship with the bowyer as anyone, and he told me that he will not take any more orders for the Hunter 56".

Gator, I haven't shot the BC longbow, but I have some coming.  Dennis from Git-r-Done has, or will get to shoot one this weekend (I forget which), and I figure he'll post a review.  I think Pete Ward is also scheduled to do a review.

It's a radical deflex/reflex when unstrung, but when strung the profile is very similar to the Crusader that Chek-Mate offers.  Marc said he is very happy with it, and suprised at how long a draw it will handle.  He was shooting a 56" or 58" a few days ago and it handled a 29" draw with no stack.  He's had this design bouncing around in his head for several years, and is finally getting to make a go of it.

Very few bowyers have anywhere near the experience Marc has (he's built well over 12,000 bows), and I don't think there are any that enjoy what they do more than he does.  I expect this one to be a winner all-around.
