60" Widows and long draws

Gonna try a 60"PSA soon. Looking for some feedback from long draw guys who have shot one. I draw aout 30.5" on a recurve. Think it's gonna be a problem? Widow says good to 31".

If you're worried, go for the 60" PCH - same length bow, but longer limbs for even longer draw than the PSA.

62" PSA limbs... 29-33" DL

At my 28" DL I ordered the 60" PSA. Less string angle and a little smoother. >>> RAY

Ben Kleinig took my words, a 60" PCH should feel similar to a 62" PSA.  I would think a 62" PSA would be my choice if I had your draw length.  Along with a better feeling draw you should get a performance advantage of the 2" of extra limb working for you.

I don't think you'll have a problem at all.  I owned a bunch of 60" Widows.  My draw is about 29.5" (since putting a clicker on my bow), but I easily pulled mine to 30.5" when trying to achieve perfect alignment.  I prefer the 60" over the 62" after shooting them all side by side...Mike

Dave, I shoot a 60" PSAX and love it. I have a 58" PCH coming for blind hunting. I draw a true 31".   Ed

I draw 30" and I've had both a 60" SAII and a 62" SAIII. I still have the 60" which I bought new back in 1997, sold the 62". For my draw the 60" was just as comfortable as the 62". With the 62" I had to "work" at keeping the lower string from bumping against me on downward shots out of a treestand. Always had that in the back of my mind when I shot it so I sold it. I have a 62" MAIII which I shoot just as well as the 60" SAII but because of the riser length they both have the same length working limb. A 58" PCH will have the same limb length as a 60" PSA. The pics show the 60" SA Greybark limbs next the the 62" MA Autumn Oak limbs. You can see they are the same length. Hopefully that helps.

I spent the better part of the day a couple of days ago shooting Black Widows at the factory.  I mostly shot the PCH with 56" limbs.  I draw 29 1/2".  The charts suggest a 58" minimum for that draw length but,  the 56" limbs felt great with no pinch (I do have long skinny fingers).

I have both PSA and PCH in the 60" length and draw 30". You would be fine with either but the PCH is slightly smoother IMO.

I have a 30in draw and i have been shooting a 62in PSA X but i would also like to see if i can shoot a 60in Widow.

They are comming to Alabama in a couple of months and i hope they bring some 60in bows with them.

I spent a couple of hours shooting PCHs down to 54" (54", 56",& 58"). I draw 29.5 and got no pinch or stack on any of them. I have big hands. Hawk is right BW's chart says 58". As Roger Fulton said "you have got to draw the line some where, try them.".

The one thing that you will find out about a BW bow is that the limbs bend very well. I shoot a 60" pmaII and a 62"pl and I draw 30+". In fact most other bows stack badly from 29" on up.This is one of the reasons that I shoot a widow.

You need to try one yourself - at the poundage you want.  As the draw weight increases, things start feeling quite different.  Do a test drive on a bow like what you are interested in.  H

Can't answer as far as long draws but my 60" PSR X is stacking arrows and busting nocks. Super smooth, no stack. I traded a Morrison Cheyenne for it and I'm not missing the Morrison at all.

I draw 30 1/2" too, and have both a 60" MAV and a 62" SAV (a few years difference in the vintages). For me - it seems they are pretty much the same as far as draw, finger pinch, etc. - with just a slightly smoother feel on the 62" - but only slightly.  
The small difference (2") in overall length though, does seem to handle better in those hunting situations - like tree stand or a ground blind.  Just a small difference but it does help. With the 62" it seems like I am always have to keep the lower limb from hitting something.  And as mentioned above - if you have to shoot a severe angle, the string tends to bump against your leg or tree stand on downward shots.

If you go with a PSA - the working limb length will be the same as a MA riser.  I think you will find that you will like it.  As suggested above - do the test drive to see how it feels for you.  

All in all, I prefer my 60" SAV over the 62" MAV - but that's me ..........

     Give BW a call. I asked Roger Fulton why I could pull such a short bow without problems. He explained the forward riser, where the limbs attach, and a lot about the geometry of the bow. I know I did not have a problem and leave the rest to the bowyer. They are great to deal with whether you buy a bow from them or not.

Hi, I own one PSAV 60" 41# , at my draw of 29/29.5" (30" when I try to perform a perfect alignement) I haven't any problem due to the lenght.
