Combined arrow tube / Back quiver - Build along (pics)

Ok, as a warning before you continue, i am not blessed with big abbilities in handcrafting, i try nevertheless...

I love my Asbell style quiver for taking along with me,
     

but it only holda 4 arrows so i want some more to have in my car. Although when shooting on the range i think it is a pein in the A** to put them arrows in the quiver all the time.

So i came up with another solution.

I used some PVC tubing with a bushing and two lids, two adjustable clip straps, some foam, an old trouser with sidepockets, sprayglue some needle and floss (and perhaps a beer for the builder     )  
   

You cut the foam to fit in the lids
   

then glue it in

of course you do this with both lids! the foam is to protect the tips, stop the noise and make the arrows fit thight.
     

then ive put lids on, one on the bushing, one on the tube (on the end with the build in bushing)
   

When the bushing is now pushed on the other end of the tube it will be hard, first because of the air that cant get out and second because of the tight fit of the rubber inside.
So i drill a hole in the bushing for the air to go out and remove the rubber ring from the bushing

then an arrow with the longest tip /head you use is used to cut the tube into the correct length (2-5 cm shorter than the arrow)
   

After that ive put the bushing (i will call it lid now) on and marked the place where it ends.
   

Now ive cut the straps to a lenght a bit longer than the tube is wide. On every strap the male part of the clip is sewed in in the middle
   

Then the straps are sewed to fit on the tube tightly (i use dental floss for all kinds of sewing- tough and easy to use)
 Put one strap at the bottom end and one 2-5 cms below the mark.

Now the time has comne for the trouser to be cut. TAke one leg off and open it in length. Be sure to leave some space above the sidepocket.
   

Then use the spray paint to glue the fabric around the tube, make small slots for the clips and be sure not to glue all your fingers together like me   :rolleyes: !  
Then the lid can be glued with another piece of fabric.

When you now take the rest of the two straps with the female part of the clips and sew them together youll get an arrow tube with a side pocket for spare strings etc. that is nearly waterproof, usabel as a back quiver and absolutely tough.
The wide bottom combined with the weight makes it possible to put it upright on the ground at the range as an arrow holder.

Looks great! I like the idea of the pant leg giving you a pocket. I made a similar one a couple of years ago with plain white PVC pipe and then painted it.

NO! That's not me. Just lucky enough to have access to a pretty model. I have since then covered the outside with camo fleece (it was a little noisey before) but don't have a cool pocket like yours. Not quite as waterproof as yours either.

She is WAY shorter than I am. That quiver fits 32" arrows plus points or broad heads. It doesn't stick up above my head when I bend over or crawl around in the brush. The points shove down in the foam at the bottom and stay secure. I have used it for feral hogs and turkeys w/o a blind. Pretty good for rainy days.
