Trying to simplify my setup!

Ordered a dozen Douglas Fir arrows 'bout a month ago from AMAW that were 65-70 spine wt and after my Watco Danish Oil soaking process came out to around 480gr give or take! When tipped with a 160gr point they are 640gr! I have been shooting this arrow religiously(can i say that on here) out of my go to bow(Bear Montana 55#@28")for 3 weeks! The accuracy, flight, weight, penetration, its all there!!! Ive been practicing out of my blind for the upcoming turkey season at ranges of 5-15yds and at backyard ranges of 15-25yds! Ive changed broadheads this year to the 160gr Snuffers and love 'em! Im thinkin 'bout keeping this setup for everything, deer, turkey, small game, etc...! Heaviest arrow ive shot out of this bow, but i like it alot(arch isnt too bad)! The reason im doin this is to get in tune with the arrow/bow setup for elk season! Anyone think its too early to do that, i shoot instinctive and i plan on using this setup for all my 3D summer shoots as well? Anyone else use a one trick pony for all their hunting? The End...

Never to early.  Shoot one bow and one arrow and soon you will kill everything you shoot at.  It sounds to me like you are on track and will be ready for elk for sure.

Thats kinds what i was thinkin too! It didnt really take me long at all, as the adjustment was a small one! I shot 600gr cedars last year out of this bow for hunting!

Sounds good to me,I would think there's not much you can't hunt with the gear you have. Keep practice'n and keep'm sharp and you will have what it takes.

For years I shot one bow and heavy woods.  Then I started experimenting, looking for something "better".  I've screwed myself up something fierce buying and shooting all these different bows and arrows and combo this and that's over the past couple years.  I just wasn't having fun.  Too much worrying about foc, groups, speed, performance, blah, blah, blah. Finally said enough.  Decided the GN Bushbow was "the" bow for me and the rest are getting sold. Went back to shooting heavy wood shafts with big ol feathers and whatever broadhead happens to fit my flavor of the day.  No more nonsense tinkering around for me. Lesson learned!!

if you can do it, 'simplification' is definitely the way to go ...

Tim, I know what you mean.  I play around with all these bows when only one type fits me.  Only one method of hunting appeals to me also. Long Hill style bows from the ground.

Think it's the best way to go too. One setup for everything.
