Looking For Company on a DIY Elk Hunt to Colorado?
« on: April 03, 2010, 06:48:00 PM »
Hello All and Happy Easter,

I have been on two guide elk hunt in the last two years and would like to do a DIY hunt with someone else or a group. I have no hunting buddies with any desire to join me, and a wife that really doesn't want me to go it alone. I am wondering if anyone here would entertain the idea of having me come along with them this fall?

I am 47 years old, and in better than good shape and will be in top shape come September. I should not slow anyone down at all. I am retired so I can go at any time. I will be happy to help pack out an animal at any time if someone in the group connects. I don't need a babysitter just company. Hunting solo is fine but would like the company at the end of the day. Being out there with someone who I can learn from would be a great plus. I would prefer Colorado but OTC in Idaho is fine also. I will bring any camp supplies necessary to a point. I would not mine driving or using my yukon xl coming from NY or ship my gear out then fly out either way is fine.

I really appreciate any consideration. The draw date for Colorado is only 3 days away so if it's a draw unit time is limited.

I was late getting into two prior internet groups in the past three weeks and really would like to get back out west.

Thanks Rob

This is right up my line of hunting mate...if I only I'd not started a new career I'd been keen to hunt Elk again in CO.

Best of luck for the season, I'm sure there will be a Tradganger or two to join you.

Cheers,

ak.

Rob I'm in the same boat. I've been meaning to do it, but can't find anyone to go with, which is safer/better I think. It would also be nice to split some gas cost. Maybe next year.
