Burning Feathers in the House
« on: April 06, 2010, 01:26:00 PM »
Well I borrowed a friends feather burner and thought it would be agood idea to try it out in the basement while watching the game last night.  According to the better half it was not such a good idea...  The good part is that we got to air the house out for spring.  Boy does that stink.  Probably not one of my brighter moves, as confirmed by the wife.

I always tell the better half, that it smells better than nail polish remover that her an my daughter don't have any problem using...that smells like you just painted a car in the living room....always good for a lively conversation...

My wife said if I burn feathers in the house one more time she was gonna leave. I thought that was pretty strong language but a man needs to respect those opinions... I'm sure gonna miss her!

Happened to me sixteen years ago Charlie. I didn't really miss her all that bad, LOL. Of course there were other things as well but we got along (the boys and me) after she took off. Burn'em Bro. Grant

My feather burner lives in front of the microwave.
Darn thing makes the smoke alarm go off, though.
Heck, sauteeing onions makes the smoke alarm go off... think I'll move it onto the balcony.

The smoke alarm, not the feather burner.   :readit:

A "friend" of mine learned that...

If you burn the feathers too close...
You can accidently ignight the gasket laquer...
   Setting off the smoke detector...
   Which brings the dog running...
Who now smells like burnt feathers...
Who precedes to run through the house...

   Burning feathers, bad
   Burning laquer, almost as bad
A burnt smelling dog, nothing new there
A smoldering cedar shaft sporting blackened laquer and feathers... now that's traditional.

At least I'm not the only one with a questionable thought process or lack thereof...  I only made it to 2 arrows before I had to regroup.  Bridog

"Smells like victory!" - maybe that was Napalm in the morning.

Killy, I like your idea of moving the smoke alarm to the balcony.

I live alone so I burn them on the front stoop. If there was anyone to complain I would do it in the house.

I burn mine on the deck outside of our bedroom,I have no outside outlets and have to keep the window open due to the cord. Then I run them right in so I can hear them say "they stink".and I reply I burnt them outside. It just gets me one step closer to getting my own shed!
