United States Archery Company ?
« on: April 07, 2010, 07:10:00 PM »
Just picked up a "Kentuckian" made by the United States Archery Company of Danbury Conn.  Has a very forward looking grip, camo cloth as the outer laminate on the limbs.  I have some feelers out for trad bows to supplement my supply for my archery club at school and this one just arrived.  Thought it was an interesting looking bow so thought I would see what the experts out there knew.  Oh, it is a 60", 45@28, left hand, K-64-130 on the side.  Figure it was made in '64.
The season gave him perfect mornings, hunter's moons and fields of freedom found only by walking them with a predator's stride.

Also known as Tri-State Archery.  Louie Owens was the bowyer.  He knew his stuff.

They were very popular in their day. I can  remember Jim Dougherty writing about how much he liked the Kentuckian....especially the camo under clear galss. I believe they were the first to do that.
The best things in life....aren't things!

It has a pretty cool look to it.  Nos string yet and I probably will not shoot it since it is a lefty.  Oh who am I kidding I'll have to shoot an arrow or two just to see how it shoots.
