My Spirit is fantastic!!!  I'm very happy with it.  It's hard to believe a bow that short and that light can shot that well.

Mark, I do not have one but my brother does so I have shot it a great deal. I like the bow.

I have spent a lot of time sitting and shooting that one, as I would if I was in a ground blind or sitting with my back against a tree.

His is a Spirt and it shoots very well. I almost got one a while back very different than they are now. It was an early model with a Rattan wrapped grip and a floppy rest if that makes sense.

I am hoping to get a Spirit in July. Fell in love with them a couple of years ago. The Shaman shoots just as well, and retains the light, maneuverable feel of the one-piece.

This is my sheepeater, Spirit.   ;)

Check out hte Shaman World Tour thread, lots of comments in there. I shot it for a week and enjoyed the bow. Really light in the hand for a t/d.

Greetings Mark!

I have 2 Black Mountains - a Sheepeater Spirit and an Obsidian Sheepeater.

I really like the Black Mountain style because it has the lightweight feel of a longbow with the substantial arrow speed of a static tip recurve.  Like many bows one needs good shooting form as these bows are sensitive to torquing the bow wrist as well as the string.

They *are* short (and did I mention light in the hand?) and once one gets used to that shortness its simply amazing how longer bows become somewhat unwieldy.  I shoot mine in the house all the time and I do not worry about hitting the 8 foot ceiling (I am 6 feet tall.).

My daughter is shooting one now and it has become her favorite bow.

BTW - my draw length is 29.25 inches.

Shoot straight, David Camp

Brent is a great person to deal with & crafts an amazing bow. My Sheepeater is very light in hand, which suits my shooting style. The bow's performance is outstanding, in my opinion. Accurate, quiet & points quickly. Also seems to be pretty fast compared to my other high end bows if speed is a concern.

I did modify the grip a bit to fit my hand perfectly. I only do this with bows I intend to keep a long long time. Best endorsement I can give.

I have the first high wrist model spirit from St.
Jude's auction a couple of years ago--I am also in the process of making slight grip modifications--because the high wrist is just a bit too high-----however--The bow is great and is super in the thick dirty stuff where there is not much room to manouver.would I buy another one? you betcha.----Alonzo---the elf.
