I've never owned the T-hawk but have seen 3 of them at bow shoots. All 3 owners were not very happy with them. And I was not really impressed with the looks of the bows. Would have tried them out but I'm a lefty.
I would suggest you do a try before you buy from BW.

I bought about 15 bows from the classified and resold them for what I paid before I figured out what I liked. Then I had them custom made exactly the way I wanted them. Now I have 2 bows that I absolutely love!  :archer:

aussieman,
I'm afraid I will be no help to you, I own one of each and love both of them
My Widow is a PLV, 64" and 47lbs at my draw.
My Tomahawk isn't the SS, it is the Diamond Series Desert Fox. 64" and 53lbs at my draw.
I haven't had any experience with hand shock at all with t-hawk, and it is fast!
It was easier to quiet down than my Widow, not that the Widow was hard or very loud, just took more "tweaking" than the t-hawk.
Try them both, when I bought my T-hawk, I tried two of the same bow and the grips were different on both, I chose the one that I liked the best.

Do you like blondes or brunettes?

I have shot the Tomahawk and it is very smooth and hard hitting. Me and my friends have only been shooting for a year total, less of that is Trad, but my mate got a Tomahawk a month and a half ago. He has done 2 Robin Hoods, cut off feathers and damaged nocks.. So I know that it is a fine bow! (He does practice a lot, bows are not magical^^)

More importantly, as mentioned, both companies have the "Try a Bow" program, and if you pay shipping both ways you can try one of their bows for a week. Since you are in the US it will probably be cheap shipping, and you will then know for sure which one to get! That is something to take advantage off!

My opinion is, both are great! You will be happy either way   ;)   I like redheads and got a Toelke   :p

I have not shot a Tomahawk but I have owned a bow with that type t/d system and I do like the locket socket t/d system that B.W. uses a lot better.
