A couple of days off scouting,Come on May 3!
« on: April 15, 2010, 12:56:00 PM »
I finally had some time to get some turkey scouting in. The first season (draw hunt) started last weekend so I when out to see what had been hit. The first season has been real windy other than the frist morning and yesterday, so I was hoping there were a few birds for me. I woke up to a couple of inches of snow and was still storming on the mountian. That made my mind up to look for lower elevation Rio's. The frist spot I check out is a railed off area I have seen lots of birds in . It had lots of these.

I went to look at another area. It also had lots off sign and was able to glass sevaral toms. It was hard to get pics of the birds because I only had my pocket camera. Here is a couple of hens.

Be calm.......it's not that far away.....
In the beginner's mind there are many possibilities. In the expert's there are few...So the most difficult thing is always to keep your beginner's mind...This is also the real secret of the arts: always be a beginner.  Shunryu Suzuki
