Well the time is upon us here in MD, time to get out and hunt them birds. My buddy is hunting in the mornings before school, and I am going with him. I have a bit more experience, so I help him out. We set up the most redneck blind that could possibly be made. It was a normal blind, but the poles inside were cheap. About 20 yards of rope and some trees forming a square and we are in business. He is having issues shooting from it, but after shooting from it yesterday he has it down, now all we need is some birds. I am a fairly good caller, I have every type of call under the sun. I use mouth and box calls to get them close then either mouth calls or slate calls to bring them closer. But for some reason last night after I finished my college homework I couldnt find my diaphram calls
so we were a bit late, it was just light, but the sun wasnt actually up.
I showed up and he was setting up the decoy. We hopped in and was getting situated when a gobble rang off across the creek.
Ill keep ya guys posted throught the season:), figured it would be cool to write a little MD turkey journal for your veiwing pleasure, and hopefully there will be some media to go along with it(pics and videos). Wish me luck
