How long do you make 2216 aluminum footings on GT carbons?

Ranger,
It just depends on what you like I guess.

I determine the footing lengths when fine tuning the arrow tuning process.  Whenever I get to within 10-20ish grains of where I want it to be then I decide the length of the footing based on the gr./in. of the aluminim.

At some point on some arrows the longer footing can stiffen the arrow but I am not sure of a rule of thumb to go by.

I have found that using a double footing works
very well and very strong.

I just made some 1 in" long and put them on. After 24 hours for the glue to dry I went out and shot a tree no damage, after that I shot a sender block at 15 yards with a 50# bow. The arrow bounced back about 10 yards and had no damage to it at all. I am very impressed.
