BW Low Grip
« on: May 05, 2010, 10:17:00 AM »
A medium grip designation may differ significantly between bowyers. Three different bowyers' medium grip bows, including a BW, which I had owned required me to shoot a high wrist grip. My consistancy was very good until I got tired. After forty shots, my consistancy noticeably drops and I start getting flyers. The high wrist grip, which is more accurate for me, is not my cup of tea. I would rather work harder to improve form, be comfortable and be able to shoot lots of arrows, thus having longer enjoyment.

Of my experience, using a lower medium grip that permits me to still impart forward pressure in the throat is by far the most comfortable and permits me to shoot a 150 arrows before the groups start to loosen up.

I was hoping to acquire some in-site with respect to people's experience with the BW low grip. Shooting one for sure is the only way to know personally, but some valued feedback would be appreciated before pursueing.

I shot a PCH with a low grip at Kalamazoo and liked it a lot.  I don't like the BW grips as a rule and was just watching my buddy shoot until Denny Sturgis mentioned the low grip to me in conversation.  I tried it and it felt like the medium on most other bows I have shot.

I have a low grip on a PA.Its a good grip with just a slight palm swell.I would call it medium/low.Its noticably lower than the standard grip.which never worked for me personally.I like it!Makes a big difference for me.

Very good feedback. Please keep it coming. I had already requested BW to send me a pic of the low grip. They didn't have one available other than what was already in their brochure.
