Wife's Robinhood
« on: May 12, 2010, 08:29:00 PM »
I had to post a picture of this. I'm very happy to say that my wife has been enjoying shooting with me more and more. She has even went with me to a couple 3D shoots this spring. She was shooting a longbow made by a very talented member of our club.

One evening while shooting, she started developing a release issue. I was trying to explain the push/pull thing and asked her to try my bow as it was heavier by a few pounds thinking that it would come off to release cleaner and she would understand what I was having trouble trying to explain.

Long story short, she has taken posession of my 56" Lost Creek and shooting it very well. (This also gave me a good excuse to order another one)

The other evening she and I were shooting and she asked me why she was getting 2 different groups. I told her it was all about focus and to bear down on that bright orange nock. She shot her last arrow and this was the result from about 19 yards!

She's a much better shot than I am and she hasn't been at it very long. I've yet to shoot a robin hood myself and have been slinging arrows for 40+ years.
I just had to share this with ya'll.

Thanks fellas, I'm very blessed to have her for my wife. Not just because she has taken an interest in shooting but because she's such a great gal.
I knew you all could relate to my excitement in her shooting.

Way to go with the praise for her abilities and being able to tell the world that she's a better shooter. Some guys couldn't handle that and a great time together would be lost. You both are blessed. And you're getting a new bow! It doesn't get any better than that.

The couple who shoots together stays together....?   :)   Maybe if I tell my wife that enough, she'll start, too?  Great shot and thanks for sharing.

It is so much fun telling the world how great it is that our better halves can go into the out of doors and accomplish what everyone thought was impossible for them.  We have fun talking about it and they have fun doing it!  Way cool.

I feel your pain, it took me 20 years and my wife did it on her second day.
