When I was a kid, back when Dinasaurs roamed the earth, I always made my own arrows and I think it would be fun to do it again. So did some Googling about the subject and came across the "Hexshaft" site.  On the surface, remembering trying to straighten arrows and keep them straight as well as shattering them, the Hexshaft looks like a good idea. I did a search on the subject but didn't come up with anything. Seems like everyone around here has an opinion, so if you have one on the Hexshaft, I would like to hear it.

Thanks,

Bish

I use them and like them a lot. Get them straight and seal them well and they should work for you. I use Profin to seal, it works better for me than gasket laquer. If you want footed hexshafts then contact Bob Burton at Whispering Wind arrows and he can fix you up. Bob is a great guy to deal with.

Bob @ Whispering Wind Arrows is the best person to ask about these shafts.....

I agree Bob is a super guy and he does a great job sorting his shafts. The Hexshafts are very durable and Bob can usually get you shafts to meet your needs on finished weight as well. I also use the Profin sealer and it works great and it is tuff. Here is his web address if you don't have it. whisperingwindarrows.com

Yup, great shafts.  Got mine at Whispering Wind as well.  I've had quite a few dozen over the last few years and I'm about to buy more.

I'm with Rob on this one, except mine in order are cane, magnolia, Surewood, and Hexshaft.
Been There, Done That, Still Plowin.
Cane and Magnolia tend to make good arrow.
