Guys, send Fletcher(Rick Stillman)on here a PM he can tell you what kind of variance he gets. He orders Surewoods in 1000 shaft lots. He has sorted quite a few. Flint

Fir varies more in weight than most other arrow woods I have worked with. Most will fall within the 50 grain spread listed by Surewood, but 120 to 150 grains per 100 shafts is common. There won't be many out on the fringes, but they will be there. If you are looking for a particular weight range or only need a couple dozen, I recommend buying the premium matched dozens. They are very good shafts.

Kevin, I will list the ones I have left.Number of shafts first then spine and then weight range.
6 of 53-57@387-397
7 of 52-57@350-360
4 of 51-53@425-435
8 of 58-62@420-439
4 of 52-55@400-401
4 of 46-48@334-344
8 of 58-62@456-472
This is a good sample of weights and spines for the whole hundred shafts. These shafts have the straitest grain with virtually no grain run-off that I have ever seen. They are the 23/64" overstock shafts. Bob (not for sale,I need them.Call Roark at Sherwood)

Thanks Rick and Robert for the info. I am planning on making the switch to woodies and want to try to foot them.
Does any one know how much footing a shaft changes the original spine?

Because the foot is on the end of the shaft, it shouldn't change the spine by more than a pound or so if at all. When I get around to footing shafts, I'll have a better handle on it
