I've got the new ones.  Pretty nice.  Just like the new 200's.  25 degree bevel from factory, so you don't have to remove nearly as much metal.  They came a real thick factory burr, so they were extremely dull.  I like that the lamination goes all the way to the bevel, so you don't have that line going across the broadhead.  If it's a choice between the old and the new, I'd get the new.  You can generally get the new 200's and 160's, but if you want any that aren't el grande, it seems that they are having some trouble getting them to the retailers.  If I needed new broadheads and didn't mind taking the extra metal off, I wouldn't wait. JMHO.

My question is, if you order a new Grizzly 160, does it actually weigh 160 grains out of the package? If not, then what does the new Grizzly 160 actually weigh and after sharpening, then how much ball park  wise, does it weigh?

Nightwing,
I haven't seen the new 160's but I do have the new 200's.  Out of eleven broadheads, they averaged 210.5 grains each.  I was able to get them sticky shaving sharp actually within minutes.  I only lost 2 grains per head.

I am sure others may sharpen differently and take more weight off but the new bevel angle does not require a lot of metal loss to get really sharp.

Nightwing,

I just got a six pack of the 160 RW yesterday.  I weighed them and they all came in between 170 and 171 grains.  I haven't sharpened any yet so I don't know what they will lose but don't imagine it will be very much.

K K has them, they also have the old 150 el grande for $20 a pack close out.

Are the ferruls better on the new ones? My old 160 seemed less than round.

Westbrook,

I assembled them last night with 75 gr. steel inserts and they all seemed to fit well.  I'd never used the old ones so have nothing to compare them with.

I have the new 200's also.Another good trait of the new Grizzlys is that the ferrule is more true and concentric. It makes a big difference. It took almost no work to get them aligned.

I used a KME knife sharpener on mine - minimum loss of material.  Like nothing!  Stupid sharp!  Huge improvement.  H
