Finger pinch and string material?

This seems like a dumb question because I don't see how it can make a difference. Do different string and serving materials give more or less finger pinch? I have a long draw, about 31"s. I received my new Dale Dye a few months back and I've been shooting it a lot lately. It has a dacron string on it with a mono serving. I seem to be getting more finger pinch with it than I do with my other bows with fast flight and braided serving. I've developed a large callus on the side of my ring finger. I also have a harder time getting a clean release.

How long is the bow. I draw 30+ with multiple materials and I haven't noticed a difference with any of them.
Odds are you need a longer bow. Some guys even hate the pinch they get with a 66" bow.
Hell that is one of the reason I switched to 68" longbows. I figured I was shooting a 64" recurve I may as well be shooting a longbow.

My Dale Dye is a 64" and the Crow Creek Black Feather that I was shooting without a problem is a 64". I have 62" Black Feather also and don't notice finger pinch with it either.

Generally, finger pinch is due to the angle of the string which is greater with shorter bows. If the bow is heavier weight it may be more noticeable. Second thing to try is finger placement on the string and the glove. Hard leather like cordovan develop a crease, softer with reinforced finger stalls such as the Howard Hill Deluxe, or the American Leathers glove with nylon may make a difference.

string material typr has nothing to do with finger pinch. String angle is what causes it. You can drop a finger and shoot 2 finger release, or lighten up the tension on the dragging finger. With your long draw length your going to need a longer bow to counter the string pinch. Short bows simply don't work with longer draws.
