Another Primal Dreams??
« on: June 04, 2010, 08:43:00 AM »
I heard a rumor that the Wensel Brothers and Mike Mitten are working on a Primal Dreams II... knowing these fine gents are members of Tradgang, and several others have a pulse of this kinda stuff... I figured I would ask.

Frankly if its true I am beyond excited.  Primal Dreams is one of my favorite movies and I often watch it with my infant son.  He loves to walk right up to the TV stand up and watch the turkeys and the elk scenes... I love it!!
God Bless,
Erik

They are working on another.  I believe Mike posted that they were beginning the editing process.  I can't wait either.  It is by far my favorite.

Yes, we are in the process of making a new DVD that will be kind of a sequel to "Primal Dreams". The new title will be "Essential Encounters". We've got over 200 hours of stupendous footage compiled since our last production. We've whittled that down to the best 20 hours and now are refining it down to an hour and a half or so of the best stuff. To give you an idea, we recently spent four long days finishing the first eight minutes of the production. It is absolutely colossal. All I'll say is the format is slightly different to cover variable viewer's preferences, but I have no doubt it's going to blow folks away. We're genuinely excited about this but want to make it the best ever. Right now we're shooting for a late summer/early fall release so please be patient with us. Please stay tuned. BOTB

I don't need 200 hours.....135 hours would work just fine, can't wait to see the new footage!!!!!

I wanna see the "prequel", Barry and Gene in diapers flinging rubber suction-cupped tipped arrows at robin-redbreast in the front yard back in New England......

The sequel is a LABOR of love. Ha! We maxed-out our editing equipment, and are too far into the project to turn back. I guess technology advances faster than us old stubborn bowhunters. We still have a long way to, so please don’t hold us to any dead-lines. Ha! Ha! But believe me, no one wants to watch the finished film more that we do at BOTB. The sequel will be more than a dream and have a present-tense feel about it, but I don’t want to give any more of it away. Just know we are doing our best. Thanks for your support and understanding. Mike

Brothers,

I know you have probably heard it before, but I think yall managed to pick right up where Pappa's "Good Earth" left off. Somehow, in all the years since that production, no one nailed it quite like Primal Dreams did. I can't wait to see where you go with this one.
