Finishing some Arrows-Pics
« on: June 05, 2010, 10:16:00 AM »
Been working on some arrows for some guys to test out (some from this site) and finally got them finished. They're all "Hunter" tapered Douglas Fir, some with internal footings added for strength behind the point. I've been trying POC and Sitka Spruce as well with good results.

A few with a simple crest and an "antique" stain:

Those look great.  Love the cresting.  Give it a layers appearance.  Does that make sense. The white with black and yellow is my favorite.

Looks good, are those camo shield cut feathers, Gateway feathers? All I could find is parabolic in the camo, or did you cut your own?

Thanks guys!

R. Combs, yes they're the Gateway camo. I bought them full length and used a feather burner.

lungbuster,
I just did that by applying a coat of denatured alcohol thinned Shellac then a Minwax stain over that.

Here's one I did with splicing and Trad Cut feathers:

The flash made the red feathers look pinkish  :)
