Rolling Oklahoma gar

It was a long day.  Perfect for rolling gar; hot and sunny.  With the temps right @ the triple digit mark and not a cloud in the sky, things were text book.  With an improved swim bladder, gar can actually gulp air from the surface to regulate their flotation.  During such gulps (aka "rolling"), you have an opportunity for some quick shooting.  These dudes are all muscle and a lot of fun to spend a summer afternoon chasing.  Everything on them is sharp too.  By the end of the day we were all bleeding.  All part of the fun.

Man that is cool! Would love to shoot some that big. Most of ours are waaaay smaller.

Congratulations to both of you!  Great pics!   Gotta get my boat back on the water.  Fuel pump quit so I haven't shot anything in about a month.
