Kanati bow 58" 51@28, arrows?

Just received my "new to me" 58" Kanati bow 51@28". My draw lentgh is 28" I was shooting 30 1/4" GT 3555 w/ 50grn brass insert and 145grn flied point, they seemed a litte stiff.
Only had the bow an hour haven't had time to play w/ the brace height or up the point wieight.
What is your Kanati draw weight? What arrows set-up are you shooting? Do you find the Kanati likes a heavy or light arrow?

I am shooting the same arrow but drawing it 30 inches. I am pulling about 52 pounds at this draw length. I have 100 grain brass inserts and 175 grain field points and they fly like darts. You may need to put some more weight up front to get the spine down a bit more. Just my two cents but I hope it helps. - jwingman

I'm shooting a Buffalo bow at the same weight with 30" GT 3555's 100gr. insert and 175gr. points and they fly really well for me.

One more question what is the height of your nocking point?

I've never measured mine.  I just move it a little until it bareshafts well then I'll raise it a little more and shoot some fletched arrows with broadheads.  When my broadheads and fieldpoints are hitting the same spot at 25 to 30yds then I tighten the nock (metal) or glue it (serving or duct tape) in place.  Oh I make sure the string is stretched and broken in good before I set the nock point good.

My Kanati is #53 @ 28,  and I draw a tad over 28 when i do everything right.  Shoots CE 250's, 30.5", with 175 field points fine.  I havent had a chance to bare shaft tune yet.   Nock hiegth on mine is about 1/2-5/8" above center (measured from the belly side of the arrow rest shelf).   It "looks" a little high, but works well so far, and according to Jason its about right (he indicated that the Kanati likes a bit higher nock than a typical R/D type bow).

I really like this bow,  so much that im looking for another in lighter (45-49) weight.

Mine is 51@28" and I draw 28".

I find that my Kanati likes the heavier arrows. I shoot 65-70 Cedar arrows with 145 gr tips. Throws them like darts.

I shoot Beman ICS Bowhunter 500s. I also found the GTs to be stiff. I use either Zwickey Deltas with a 100 grain steel adapter or 160 Snuffers with a 75 grain adapter. Moving the weight to the front helped both FOC and spine for me. The brass weights work, but not as well.

Kanatis are pretty forgiving of spine as a rule. I shoot the same thing from my 46# as well and notice no difference. I killed a nice 8 point buck with it last fall (complete pass-through at 22 yards).

I also use this setup with my Orion 53# and it seems to like them too. Lately the only trouble I've been having is with Robin Hoods    

My son used 1916s with 150 grain Woodsman broadheads out of his 51# 58" Kanati last fall and shot through a nice 12 point buck. I think he had them cut to 28.5", but I'm not certain of that. He probably draws 27 to 27 1/2".
