Without a point 550-600 is common for Ash. Tell Ted what weight you want and that is what you will get. For me, Ash is way more durable than Birch.

Ted told me Ash can be tough to get over #70, above that he goes to Hickory. I got a dozen of each @70-75 tapered and they are nice. The Ash finished up at around 750g w/160 pt at 30" and the Hickory finished at a fuzz over 800 w/160 at 31".

Make sure your target is braced good cause they hit hard. LOL

I bought some 85-90# ash a few years ago,any heavy spine in wood can be alittle tough to find.Have you checked Whispering Winds,Bob sells hexshafts in heavier spines.

Thought this might come in helpful.
Lets you compare wood weights with some math.

Call Ted at Raptor and get the information direct from him.  You are spending a great deal of time and effort asking for information that he can provide in a few minutes.

I second Allegheny Mountain Arrowwoods. Top quality stuff and great service. The owner shares a building with the grizzly broadhead manufacturer.

Heres a link.
