Father & son New to trad
« on: June 09, 2010, 12:07:00 PM »
My son and I have put away our Wheel bows and picked up trad. bows:
My bow is an Appalachain archery Savage River take down recurve 58in, 52@27 (my draw is 271/2)
Arrows gold tip trad 3555 29in three 4in feathers 145grn field pts
Son's bow Appalachain archery Cedar Ridge long/flat bow 62in 54@28(not sure of his draw L. he's over 6ft 1) same arrows
both w flemish strings
WE both seem to get good to great arrow flight (I split an arrow at 15 yrds) but sure would like some suggestions to make the best setups
we have several full length 3555s (301/2) and wish to use these arrows.  :archer2:
As we get older our bow weight goes down and our body weight goes up, One of Lifes little jokes.

YOU ARE USING MY FAVORITE ARROW. ON A TIP FROM A BOWYER FRIEND I INCREASED TIP WEIGHT TO 200G AND MY CONSISTENCY IMPROVED IMMEDIATELY. YOU MIGHT WANT TO TRY A PROGRESSION, 175, 200 ETC.
