Bowhunting Alaska's Wild Rivers
« on: June 17, 2010, 01:24:00 AM »
I was looking for something to read so I pulled out my copy of Bowhunting Alaska's Wild Rivers the other day. I first read it in the eighties before Jay Massey got sick and was still taking people out. I really wanted to go but somehow never managed it. It is a fun read and makes me want to go to Alaska. Someday I will make it. In the mean time I'm glad for good authors that write books about it. I felt bad when he passed. Gary

Jay was the real deal.  Met him at some of the early trad archery gatherings.  I hunted the Moose John when he was doing the outfitting for it nearly 20 years ago. I'll never forget the hunt or the man.

Orion, I envy your hunt. Someday if we ever meet up I would like to hear about it. Gary

I have posted this before but thought it was worth another look.  I have scanned the entire brochure if you guys want to see it.  I always wanted to go on one of his float hunts but never had the money.  I should have taken a loan.

Great momento Jack! Life is too stinkin' short.
