« on: June 17, 2010, 05:26:00 PM »
I ran across a few 1918 aluminum shafts.

Anyone know what spine they are?

Billy, I'm sure they are close to .500 spine.

I used to shoot 1916's, and they are just a tad weaker than my .500 carbons.

Checked Easton target and hunting catalog, 1918's do not show up. Guestimating from 2016-2018 using 1916-1918.  they are probably around .570

Thanks guys....these are older Autumn Orange shafts, and 1918's are not listed on my spine chart.

I was thinking they'd be between a 2016 & 2018

Fletching one up to see how it flies is my best bet.

1918's spine just under 2016's by about a 1# or so.

Great arrows!  I wish they were still made.  I try to pick up all I can.  I shoot a 29 1/4 inch arrow and they fly great with 145 grain heads out of my 53# Schafer and my 54# Blacktail.

Doug Danielson was nice enough to sell me a dozen Autumn Orange 1918 shafts. He even threw in a new fletched arrow.

I thought they would probably fall between a 2016 & 2018, which is what I normally shoot in aluminum.

I cut the arrow down to 30", and it flys pretty good out of a Dale Arner 54# recurve. A bit more tweaking and it should fly really nice.

Thanks for the input everyone.

Wish I could run across a few 1918 shafts!
