Pretty cool day.
« on: June 19, 2010, 03:19:00 AM »
Went out this after noon to play tag with the ground squirrels. Found this guy playing in the water.

a close up.

Was waiting for a squirrel to pop his head up and this jack rabbit came up and took a nap.

floped over on his side and dozed off.

He was there for a long time. He jumped about six feet in the air and took off when I took the shot at the squirrel.
the sqirrel.

Was a good after noon only got the one but still was fun.
Heres a big guy from the other day .Had to do some crawling to get close to him ,still had to make a 20-25 yard shot at him. Some times you get lucky.
You can hop but you can't hide.
If it was not for rabbits I would never get a buck.

Tree squirrels are good to eat but ground squirrels are nasty flea ridden rats with bushy tails ,and they can carry plague. Where Im shooting them they are eating up the farmers almonds and apricots.
