Type of Carbon in bow limbs is a puzzle to me???

Lots of bow makers are using Carbon in the middle of limbs of there bows, but as a customer I never know what kind of carbon and how thick it is? What are the different types they use, and has anyone tested carbon for which type will be best for the limbs(longbow or recurve)?
I know some well know bowers use a special checked Carbon for the back of there bows, but some Carbon types for the inside of limbs has to be more efficient than others. Ken

Carbon in the middle of a limb is not something mystical. A limb works by compression and expansion. What ever is in the middle is only holding the front and back materials apart. Carbon in the middle of the limb will stabilize the limb however because on the uni-directional fibers. I believe this is why bows with carbon can get a couple of feet/second extra speed. More energy directed in a straight line. Dick
