I have a old fly rod that launches soda cans, but it only launches them like 15 yards MAX, They make a disk launcher that attaches to the back of your vehicle???

OOOO, I hit the motherload!!!

 http://peteward.com/2007%20new%20pages/test.wingshooter.html

That is a place that sells plans to make your own, actually I am going to buy them, the thing looks kinda simple, and easy to use.

I would think if you cut a PVC pipe and sealed the end and used an air compressor or tank with a demand valve. You could release air into the PVC pipe and launch the bottle.kinda like a potato launcher.

There was a piece in an old issue of TBM for a thrower that used rubberbands to launch plastic bottles skyward. You might check their index of articles. I think it included the plans to make one.

The wing shooter looks a lot like some of the weaponry used back during medieval period.

There's a name for them but it's evading me at the moment. The main difference I see is that the ones used back then used weight as a counter balance to create the force needed to fling "stuff". I think I've seen a modern competition event on tv's "How Do They Do It", "MythBusters", anyway, it was some such show.

Dang it! I just hate it when I know something but can't pull it out of those deep dark recesses of my mind. I'm pretty sure I don't have Alzheimers but it sure feels like "some-timers" when it happens..lol

I think I remember things like refrigerators, cars, watermelons, pumpkins and even a cow being tossed a long ways with one.

How about "catapult."

Bears can attack people- although fewer people have been killed by bears than in all WWI and WWII combined.

I think catapult is what he is looking for, and that is exactly what it is, except with a tire intertoop(thats what it looks like) instead of a weight!

Trebuchet is the one with weights catapult used a rope/sinew that is twisted to create a elastic energy.

yes marsniper27 has it right trebuchet vs catapult. I had to build a catapult for an event.
But on top, we used a wing shooter at a shoot in indiana and it worked well and could be pulled by the shooter. It is like a catapult in how it works

I have one made that I will take photos of and send you. It uses surgigal tubing and is adjustable for different angles of shots. It throws liter bottles full of foam well. I practice with it by myself before shooting the flying fish (Silver carp) on the Illinois river and before a pheasant hunt. Seems to help a lot.

I remember a few years back a magazine article that had plans for a thrower that used 6 liter bottles lined up in a row and you pulled a string to launch them one at a time.  I think it was in Instictive Archer but maybe in Trad Bowhunter.  It might be the same as bofish-IL is talking about.  I'd like to see the pictures of his setup.
