Shot Two Nice Bows Today!
« on: June 24, 2010, 10:05:00 PM »
I have owned or shot just about every high end bow out there, with a few exceptions.  Today, I was able to shoot a Dakota recuve (Rick Welch) and a Centaur longbow, two bows I have never shot.  I was highly impressed with both.  I don't like longbows much, but if I were going to shoot one, the Centaur would probably be it.  It was smoking fast for a longbow, and this was a non-carbon model.  It had just a touch of handshock, as all longbows do, but it was very little.  Great grip, too.  The Dakota was a 62" model with carbon/bamboo limbs.  I liked the grip on it, and I am picky about grips.  Very stable and very fast; it was a shooter.  It was not all that much to look at; as someone said, you could hit the deer over the head with it to finish him off and not be too worried about the bow!  But handsome is as handsome does, and this one probably shoots with anything out there.  Very impressive, as was the Centaur.  Anyone who wants a smoking fast recurve or a longbow that shoots like one would do well to consider these bows.
