« on: June 26, 2010, 05:40:00 PM »
Anyone have an Owl bow? Ive been longing to order one for no good reason other than the fact that they are so cool looking.Sure Id hunt it a bit but I really just wanna look at it now that my bow display rack is finished.Id also like to see any other ornate bow of that type.

          Thanks,Izzy

Here I still want to look at your new one Izzy. Has it already become just another bow in the rack?      :jumper:

They are works of art as well as functional weapons.  I was lucky enough to be set up close to Ed at Cloverdale.  The Ramhorn/sinew bow was just awesome as well as the gemsbock/sinew bow.  Also got to shoot a juniper war bow.  The man is a wealth of information.  He knows his stuff.  Wish I could own one.  Sorry no pics.

My daughter just got a new one at Compton so we have a total of three in the household.  I will post some pictures later.  They are all great shooters and his craftsmanship is second to none.

Mine is a lefty.  It doesn't shoot right now because it's in need of repair.  Someday I'll get around to it.... or i'll just keep it to look at.

You can make a bow, I can help.  I need to get working on a new one for me, so I'll be in the shop soon.  I'm not a DVD, but.....

I do not own any Owl bows but felt I had to comment on this thread.  At Compton's I spent a little over three hours on and off watching shooters on the warm up bales.  During this time I wasn't interested in watching shooters as much as evaluating the bows that they shot.  I saw no less than 8 of the Owl bows being shot.  They were without a doubt the quietest bows that were shot while I was there.  I know this isn't in any way scientific, but just an honest observation.
If it isn't life or death, it's no big deal.
