Great pic's Jake, There are some really nice bulls in that unit.

Eric

That is the Ambush Recurve from Two Tracks Bow company.  Chuck is a top notch guy, a real pleasure to deal with and build a heck of a bow.

I was thinking you got lost in the mountains Jake. Have been back out to see how big he is now? I would be half tempted to come out and help you out with that big boy, it has been a long time since I was after an elk, I need to get at it. Those pics are great. Good luck.

Neat stuff but... I learned years ago that where the elk are in June doesn't have much to do with where they'll be in September. If you're really scouting, you'll be better off looking for last year's rubs, sign that correlates better with where the elk were during hunting season. Meanwhile, have fun with your camera and enjoy getting your legs in shape! Cheers, Don

Chuck

No I have not been back out yet, but plan on it as soon as I possibly can!  Head this direction and lets give them Elk a run for their money that would be great fun!

Don

I agree but disagree.  I have seen it happen both ways many times.  The last few years I have hunted both places that get heavy traffic of hunters and those that do not.  The areas with easy access and therefore people, tend to act the way you described....come the season, the elk are not where they were.

On the other hand the areas that were tough to get to and remote, I find the elk exactly where I saw them early in the season.  I think people/pressure have a huge impact on that.

Thanks for the tip though, it just so happens where I saw this big boy, is also where I found rubs and lots of other elk sign.
