Rinehart 18-1 target, weathring?

I'm thinking about purchasing an 18-1 target. I like to shoot broadheads all the time, I've heard nothing but good things about the rinehart products, my question is, if left outside all the time how do they take the weather? Anyone out there leave them out? Thanks, DK.

Ive only had mine for 3 months but i have left it outside from the day i bought it. There is no noticeable wear from the weather. I love the target, very easy to pull arrows out of. I only wish the target was a bit larger for stray arrows.

Thanks Hawk: I plan on picking a couple up in the next few weeks, I've heard nothing but good things, I shoot 2 or 3 different times a day, for sure morning and evening, so for the summer anyway it would be a real pain dragging them back and forth all the time! I don't know if it would work for you depending on where you live, city/country, but years ago I had a couple of truck loads of sand dumped behind my place on a pile where I shoot, I then put all of my targets in front of it and it works great to catch any stray arrows. DK.

I am passing this along as it was told to me. A guy I met at a shoot told me that the rhinrhart are good but don't leave them in the hot sun, he said that it makes them brittle and break up.He told me to cover them with something when not in use. I have always used Morrel Yellow Jacket and was considering the rhinehart for BH's.

I could be wrong but I believe all foam targets will degrade over time if left out. At least this is what I have experienced with multiple brands.

Mine has been outside in the sun (Houston, TX area)  for over 2 1/2 years. The only problem is that 3 sides have been shoot out. I do not use broadheads on it. Best target I have ever had.

Mine is about 1 year old and just about shot out.  I shoot bheads exclusively into this target.  Its stays outside for most of the time.  The only thing that isn't great about the target is once you start to shoot it out, it becomes difficult to remove bheads because the back edge grabs the loose/cut pieces of the target.  Dispite this minor headache, its the best broadhead target I've owned.  I've yet to shoot thru the target.

I have one that is probably 4 years old. Stays outside in the tropical weather. Holding up very well.

I'm on my second one.  The first one lived for 2 1/2 years in my back yard and stopped a LOT of arrows; I'd guess maybe 20% were broadheads.  Only weather wear I saw was the faded paint.

Don't shoot hex heads or hammer heads at them, they leave a mark.

I have had mine for about 4 years now and shoot it all the time in our shop.( outside)  For the last year it is in the top of a tree for practice.  The weather has not bothered it a bit. Give me a call if you decide on one we have them in stock. Jim Pyles 573-543-5357

It is easy to take on a walk so long as you only shoot one arrow at a time into it. All targets are better off out of the suns rays but these can handle it as well as any. The only thing I dont like about the 18-1 is it's weight, but it is one great target. Hard to beat.

I second the RFT, you really cant beat that price!  The only downside to it is the same thing as one of the upsides, it is small, 8" I think.  Soooooo, if you are not really on top of your game . . .everyone has bad days, lol.  You will miss more than you hitt, but normally I kill it, and kill it well. I love mine!  Probably by far the best target I have ever owned!  And I've owned ALOT, lol

You can buy foam soccer balls at walmart that are the same size as the RFT for about $9.99.
