Summer time fun with Abby
« on: July 01, 2010, 02:24:00 PM »
When the temps get climbing in the valley I like to shooting at our clubs upper range. Its about 9000 ft in the pines and aspens so it makes for cooler temps and more shade. After finishing the morning chores and with a new string on I load the dog and was off. Abby is my shooting partner she knows all the ranges by heart, loves to stump shoot and goes to all 3-Ds with me. It a good way for me to run her. This is the view form the parking lot.

Abby is always content when she is on the range,it is her free time. I think she likes it more than hunting ducks. Everyone in the archery club know her well almost to well with all the treats she gets from everyone. She is always in tow behind me exploring the range.

The range is set up as a field course but I just make up my own shooting positions as I see fit. With 30 targets and some imagination it gives you endless shooting angels and positions. Most shoots I end up walking much closer that the posted position.

Great way to spend time with a good friend that never complains...lol! I'm jealous!!!

The upper range is more Abby friendly in the summer with lots of watering holes for her. I have even seen the elk use this one Abbys playing in.

Sometimes after a big hill Abby will need to take a break and enjoy the scenery while I sit on the old man bench.

Cool! Wish I was there right now in the sunshine instead of here in this Juneuary weather we are having.

We went from winter to summer real quick this year so being able to move up in elevation is nice for shooting especially with good scenery and company. Thanxs for letting me share a day with Abby on our range with everyone.
