Tape-Glue, Tape-Glue, Tape-Glue, Tape-Glue, I tried tape, back to glue. Both have their disadvantages, there is just less of them with glue. Hehehe...

I've used regular super glue to fletch my carbons.  Works OK, but the more glue you use, the longer you will wait for it to set.  More is not better in this case.

I don't like superglue. I find that the small tubes are often half full as you said, and the larger bottles dry out before I can use them up. Pine Ridge super glue works fine, but as I said, there is a lot of waste if you don't use it up fairly soon. I have lately been totally converted to NPV glue, which sets in about 7-8 minutes. Not everything has to be fast!

I really like the Loctite super glue gel.  Little bit bigger tube and it sticks in seconds to vinyl wraps.  2 cents.

I use the fletching tape, and just put a dab of the Gorilla super glue on the front of the feathers.

Store your large bottles in the fridge. Let come to room temp. a couple hours before use. Works great.

I've been using the FastFletch glue and have had great luck with it.  I got it at Cabela's but I'm sure you can find it other places too.  I put it on the fletching and let it sit about 30 seconds or so and pull the clamp off and its done.  The only other thing I do is put a drop of fletchtite on both ends of the fletching when done.  It comes in several different size bottles.  I've had mine for several months and I have fletched around 7 dozen arrows and none of the feathers have come loose yet. I figured being it is a type of super glue(cyanoacrylate)that the bottle would dry out quickly.  So far that has not been the case.  My bottle is still over half full and it's still good.

Go with the tape, once you learn how to get the backing off you will be in heaven from the ease of the usage not the smell.!!!

LocTite Gel Control is the best glue I've found.  Doesn't run, holds crazy well, one tube will go a long way...
