Check out my new Acadian Tree Stick headed my way from Tim
« on: July 07, 2010, 03:08:00 PM »
WOW, Tim just sent me these pics of the Tree Stick I ordered and it is a beauty, 64",58#@28",wenge riser with cocobolo stripe, boo limbs with rosewood lams and artistic inlays to boot. He still has to but on the leather but I think I am gonna love this.

Yeah Tom,

The very first custom bow I ordered was an Acadian Cajun Hunter longbow, many years ago and I have been wanting another Acadian ever since I got rid of that one so I ordered this beauty and am glad I did.  Cannot wait to get her and shoot her.  Back then I shot longbows exclusevily but now shoot mainly recurves but gotta have a longbow on the rack,LOL.

Tim said he would send me better pics after the final coat of finish and the leather grip, rest and strike plate are on the bow.

Danny, that is a beauty. What wood veneer is on the back under the clear glass? I bought my buddy one of the one piece Tree stick in left hand about two years ago and he loves it. It is the only bow he has. I will have me one of these someday. Ken

Ken,

The lams are indian rosewood both back and belly. At the fades on the belly are wenge inlays and the artistic inlays on the back are wenge/cocobolo I believe. I also think he used cocobolo for the inlays near the tips on the back. Cannot tell for sure from the pics, hopefully when he sends the better pics I can be more specific.

Great looking bow Danny.  You will enjoy it. Smooth and fast.  Can't beat Tim's craftsmanship. A real thing of beauty.

I shot my Tree stick today shooting in some new wool string silencers from Terry.

When you get your paws on it, SEND PICS!!!!

Don't hold your breath Bill. I may have bought and sold a bunch of bows, but everyone that was custom made for me in the weight I now shoot is still on the rack and always will be.LOL.Sold a couple of heavy weights that I just cannot shoot anymore. I used to shoot 72-80#. I now shoot 57-64#.
