Thanks for the prayers/thoughts/well-wishes
« on: July 17, 2010, 09:09:00 PM »
Job prospects look a little better at the moment, nothing yet though.

Just wanted to say "thanks", there has been some recent activity/possible opportunity.

Medical check out for one temp gig, could be permanent at some point. Another place listed engineering techs needed, applied for that one.

If I get either there won't be a need to move the family.

Might mess up my hunting season though, as starting new any place will mean long hours and no vacation for a while.

I could probably do the late archery over the holidays (if I land a gig)......am a bit of a sissy when it comes to cold weather though.

:-)

It'll get better! Keep clawing and digging. There will be plenty of time to hunt, once the Home front is secure.

I spent a long and cold Winter on the sidelines this year, with a newborn in the House. I sold everything I owned to keep on going.

Work is picking back up (Commercial Industrial HVAC Installer) When there's a Will there's a Way.

Good Luck to you and yours. I will keep you in my prayers. It will all work itself out.

Rob..

Thanks, but I am very tired of clawing and digging.

Been a bad day. After almost two years I am totally burned out with trying to find a job.

Hopefully one of the two close by opportunities will pan out. I applied for both, took the physical for one.

I have some TAA unemployment class next week, I'll go in and tell them I'm not coming anymore.
I haven't filed for the last couple of weeks, as it no longer goes against my former employer.

Current low pay temp gig makes it not worth the effort IMHO.

Old lady got laid off from temp gig, so the $ lost there and on my end, has things getting mighty stressful.

Minor legal on her end, plus possible minor legal on mine, over nothing, just may need straightened out with help..........and two teen girls in the house..........

well maybe some of you can understand.

I am so whipped today I couldn't pull a 20 # recurve if I had to.

Man I hope things get better, I'll keep asking the Big Guy (and other decent folks who believe) for help.

Thanks again, we aint done yet.

Glad things are looking better for you in the job hunting.  I have only been out of work for about 11 months and know how stressful it can be.

I had planned on using this opportunity after losing my job to get into law enforcement, but with all the budget cuts and hiring freezes on in local and state govt, the chances of getting a job in law enforcement is slim to none without the military preference points in your favor. So I opted to go after a different type of law enforcement.  Bail Recovery.

Next week, the 29th-the 1st of august, I will be going down to olympia to take the state required training and certification to become a bail recovery agent.  Have to get certified with a tazer, baton, oc spray(pepperspray), then take a firearms certification class, then when that is all taken care of, take the test to get my license in bail recovery.  I have been promised work from a few bail bondsman in my area so that is a positive.

I will continue to pray for you and your family through this situation.

P.S. How is the new tradtech working out for ya?

Thanks guys.

Possible new job (or not), clearing up some unemployment stuff, 2yr anniversary of a bud's death, the old lady's economic/legal stuff, kid starting college (maybe) still not situated-having moved to less expensive housing.......my nerves are shot.

It's a whole lot of little that is just making me sick.

It has to get better soon as I am pretty much out of reserve energy.

CIC,

Good luck in your possible new career!

The Tradtech has been modified to way better than new (thinned grip, deepened throat).

I've sold my other bows, and some of my guns, not much left. The Tradtech will have to do, no matter what.

Hope I don't have to sell it too.

I had to sell my glock collection over the winter and now find myself in need of another one for this new job.  Hindsight, you know what they say about that.

Glad the tradtech is working for you.  I still have the samick and am in the same boat, it will have to do.  Although I have never owned another recurve except an all glass recurve as a kid, so I don't know what I am missing with the more spendy bows.

Well CIC, I did send a prayer request to some past forum brothers on another site  ;)

Just PM's though as I don't post there as somebody wasn't a very standup guy and caused me some personal stress (you'll remember but lets not bring that up here).

The Tradtech was working OK, until I did my final mod. Now it's like starting over   :knothead:

I don't have the $ for a quiver yet, hope to get one soon as I like a bolt on (not asking for help there, just sayin').

I haven't even factored the stress of not shooting worth a hoot.

Finally got something to eat, had two small things in the last 2 days. Not good for keeping the muscles or brain straight.

The job stuff, moving, family and other stress makes me feel like I did when I was getting divorced.  That was terrible and I think it took quite a bit of the fight out of me then, have never recovered.

Made it through, barely, and my family was healed a few years later, so I do believe in the power of prayer. At least I think I do.

I've prayed for stuff and not gotten it too, good prayer for good things.

Odd, I wonder if those will be answered in direct fashion way later, or their not being answered then was an answer to a previous prayer.

Interesting things to ponder for sure.

But I'm getting too tired to discuss such things within my own head.

As for the more spendy bows..........they are nice, if they work for you. But deer don't care how much you spend.

Yeah we like steak, but a good cheeseburger or hotdog aint bad either!

On the Glock deal: seems to be a lot of good used ones floating around, don't think they can be hurt very easily either!

Heck a bud has blown his up a couple of times and most of the parts he's reused and it's still boomin' (he tries all sorts of hotrod stuff, so accepts the parts loss/cost).

If I do land the one temp gig I probably will miss season. If I get the other job I might have some time off, but only a day or so.

I can't get my hopes up. Done that before and the fall stings too badly.
